At present, the most widely used STR is cell authentication. In 2011, American National Standards Institute issued a special cell STR identification standard, and ChP (People's Republic of China (PRC) Pharmacopoeia) also stipulated the STR test for cell line quality control. STR genotyping has been used as the gold standard in cell identification by authoritative organizations such as ICLAC and ATCC.

Description

Chromosome STR is a short tandem repeat sequence of chromosomes, which is hereditary and highly polymorphic, and is a type of genetic marker. Those distributed on autosomes are called autosomal STR loci; those distributed on sex chromosomes are called sex chromosome STR loci, including X-STR and Y-STR, which are genetically unique.
