When comparing DNA from a scene with a suspect's DNA, accurate results are crucial for convicting or eliminating a suspect.


*DNA Database Construction and Comparison:

All data in DNA databases of criminal suspects and scene evidence established by various countries must be generated under standardized quality control. This ensures the accuracy and reliability of the data within the database, enabling efficient and accurate "one-click comparison."


*Parenthood Testing and Parent-Child Relationship Analysis:

In determining parent-child relationships (e.g., in immigration, inheritance, and child trafficking cases), STR standards ensure the absolute accuracy of STR typing results, which is a prerequisite for making correct identification conclusions.


*Identifying victims of major disasters:

In major disasters such as air crashes, tsunamis, and earthquakes, DNA identification of victims' remains is necessary. Due to the large number of samples and complex conditions (such as degradation and contamination), strict quality control is crucial. Standards ensure the accuracy of DNA data from victims and their relatives from different laboratories, preventing misidentification.
